Another one comes up dry

A note from Cubapetroleo published in Granma says that the latest effort of the Scarabeo 9 exploration rig, leased to the companies PC Gulf and Gazpromneft, discovered oil in another Cuban offshore bloc but it is not retrievable due to the “very compact” local rock formations.

The drilling went to a depth of 4.6 kilometers.

The rig will now be passed to Venezuela’s PDVSA for exploration in its bloc in Cuba’s Gulf waters.
